Sculptor Michael Dzyndra (1921-2006) returned to Ukraine from the USA in 1991. He built a museum using his own funds, which and placed more than 800 imported sculptures that he donated to the state represented at the Lviv Art Gallery. The artistic heritage of Dzyndra, which is also exhibited in the museum, introduces the unique world of his abstract sculpture.
The artist got interested in modern sculpture in the early 1950's. He was attracted by a transformation of material objects, a search for new properties of abstract form, plastic style, new quality of free forms, and spatial properties. His remarkable journey of fantasy, and plastic associations are in each work, including - "Fantasies", "Choristers", "Woman with long hair", "The Dictator", " Space Journey", "The Dance", and many other sculptures.
